Noticing the details 2/52

Ophelia’s been ill this week and so I almost forgot to do this list. That’s not good for the second week of noticing stuff I’m grateful for! Anyway, here we go, in no particular order.

Today’s a sunny day and we’ve spent a good chunk of it outside. Despite it being freezing, it’s done all of us such good. I should also throw in that I’m grateful for the park that was only recently built in our area. Now we just have to campaign for our library not to be shut down!

My baby’s birthday

We went to the zoo with friends on Ophelia’s birthday. My parents-in-law gave us zoo membership and it’s reminded me what an easy day out it is. Ophelia is definitely at an age where she gets lots out of it and Talitha hasn’t gone off it at all.

I was sent these Mother’s Day Flowers by Debenhams so I could try out their Flower Delivery. We’ve been reorganising the house and it just gives me such a lift every time I walk through the living room. I never thought I was particularly a flowers-in-the-house kind of girl but I’m definitely going that way (take note, father of my children). I’m really happy with the service and this bouquet and they’ve given me the discount code “DFBLOG25” to give my readers 25% off a bouquet*.

Talitha’s questions

I’m not always sure this is something I’m grateful for…but it’s definitely something I find exciting. Her questions have recently become a lot more detailed and complex. Questions this week have spanned from dinosaurs to eternity, bones to the Trinity. She’s making me think and question a lot. Laurence is pretty glad I’m the one who has to deal with the hard questions!

I have an awful habit of not being content with our home and wishing it were this or that. As I mentioned, I’ve been moving things around this week and giving special attention to sorting out the playroom. I’ve been struck with how much space we have and how much we are blessed with. It is not about getting more but about making the most of what we have.

Chinese New Year
The only bouquets exempt from the discount is the ‘Flowers By Post’ range. However, this is only a small range.
We went to a Chinese New Year celebration on the weekend which was great fun. Talitha got to see the lion dance, which she’d really hoped to. Laurence worked on Sunday so it was nice to do something out of the ordinary on Saturday.

PS: It’s a short list because Ophelia’s been ill this week – all the more reason to stop and notice the details!
PPS: Can you spot the picture Laurence took?! 😉

*The only range of bouquets exempt from the discount is the ‘Flowers By Post’ range. However, this is only a small range.

Lovely post. Great idea, in busy life we miss so much and flowers are always welcome :0) Happy Mother’s Day, in advance.

I’m the same when it comes to our house. I have so many projects I want to complete but severely lacking on time (or spare hands!) at the moment and it drives me crazy. Doesn’t help that I’ve been doing a few interiors features for magazines recently so it’s making me even more aware of what I want our house to look like! But you’re right, it’s important to look at the haves rather than the have nots. Lovely post. x
