The MADs: I’m not pregnant this year (so far)

A year ago my pelvic girdle fell apart, the nights were incessantly interrupted with loo visits and I was eating lemons for breakfast.

I kept sitting down to feel the creature wake up and kick. I obsessed over my outie. I looked forward to meeting my baby.

A year ago some of you told me you’d been where I was. You laughed at my jokes. You warned me not to get hung up on my birth plan – though I did anyway.

And you voted me into the finals of MAD Blog Awards in the pregnancy category.

So I kissed my baby goodbye for 24 hours and went to London. I spent the night worrying about a baby too young for me to have left that long, really.

Aside from that, I lost my head at two glasses of wine, sang awful karaoke and enjoyed being part of the parent blogging community.

Then I went to bed way too early, kept waking up and wondering if I should catch the next train back to Bristol, getting up to pump and wishing I’d brought the 4-month-old star of my blog with me.

I did have a great time but what I’m trying to say, in my typically roundabout way, is that I will enjoy the MAD blog awards a lot more this year.

Especially if I win.

So please nominate

I’ll admit I’ve got my eye on Best Baby Blog and Best Blog Writer but feel free to nominate me for whichever category/ies you think suits me. You don’t have to fill every category to nominate.

Phew. I got there in the end.

Now, what should I offer you in return, I wonder?
